Really good chinese fare. Great service. Prices are a bit higher than Wangs whom is history.

Wonderful food. Attentive staff. A new find for authentic Asian cuisine.

Upon arrival, there were 2 buckets by a front table. When asked, I was told they were there to catch water. Very unattractive. Upon being seated, we were asked for our drink order. My husband asked for tea and I asked for Pinot Grigio. The tea had to sit for 5 minutes and it was warm not hot. The wine was flat so I asked for another glass. It was okay (ck mondavi from California). The service was okay, definitely much more welcoming under prior owner. The only saving grace was the food.

Ugh! Dirty floors and tables. Poor service. Lackluster, tasteless food. I went there with my family, we all got different dishes, and none of us would order the same dish again. **Most importantly, we all had different dishes, and we all got really sick.** That can only be kitchen sanitation problems. The health inspection grades are posted all over the windows, but I feel positive any health inspector would find issues now - at least they would have when we were there. Put it this way: It's a telling sign when you go at 7pm on a Friday night and you're the only table of people in a large restaurant.

I've been a customer of JChen's for over a decade. Takeout portions are larger than most restaurants & food is delicious. Love the service because it comes with a smile!

Literally sat us next to a falling apart moldy ass wall...the yellow curry is good but the moldy ass wall and mind numbingly loud air conditioner eclipse the tatse of the curry...honestly. I thought the wall had purposefully texture until I realized it's mold bubbling up the wallpaper...also the man who served us constantly tried to jump to conclusions about our order and kept interrupting us every single time someone tried to speak...it was almost comedic. Honestly between the moldy ass wall and the extremely loud humming I was crawling up the wall before dinner was over. J Chen...I'm sorry but you are the weakest link. Also, do yourself a favor and add spicier things to your menu.

What an incredible experience! The staff was amazing and patient with my three kiddos and our picky eaters. Thank you again J Chen staff for providing a wonderful evening for my family.

Good food and service

Has a fine restaurant look high-end. The food is excellent and is modestly priced most dishes are between $10.95 and less than $14 dollars for dinner. Taste excellent with generous portions. Lunch is even cheaper. I have paid as much as twice the amount at other Chinese restaurants. Overall a wonderful wonderful place. I strongly recommend people check it out. Rush our meal. Food wasn't that good. Been there before and service and food was better.

Food is good although service could be better. As do many Chinese restaurants, they don't give you chips and sauces at your table, almost a must at any Asian restaurant.

Pepper Beef. I’m sorry it was just really really terrible. I didn’t ask for a refund but there’s no way I would come back. I am not exaggerating or lying to you when I say it was the texture of dog food and the same flavor. So sad about it, really you seem like nice people but your food is so horrendous. Maybe call Gordon Ramsay.

Stay away from this place. The food was horrible. We went with safe dishes. Orange Peel Chicken and Sesame Cicken. Ended up with chicken chunks in donut batter with sugar water claiming to be sesame sauce because 20 seeds were tossed on top. Orange peel chicken made from the same fried bits with a sauce that tasted only of rancid oil and sugar. Cheepest fried food out of a discount freezer. The one bite has left a lingering rancid taste.

Enjoyed the mu shu pork

I usually don’t criticize small businesses but this place fell below my expectation. Seeing all the good reviews, I was excited about this only Chinese restaurant in my new neighborhood but first order was a disaster: twice cooked pork was cooked from some kind of preserved pork which is a huge no no in any genuine Chinese restaurant. Decided to give them a second try ordering different dishes still not impressed: chicken and meat dishes both have similar heavy soupy unknown sauce. Unless this restaurant changes owner or chef, they will never see me there... I’m Chinese.

The food and the service are consistently very good! This is an undiscovered gem!

I feel the best in AZ. Took me awhile to find a good Chinese/ Thai place in AZ. For the fact I am super picky with my Chinese food. 😉 Best part they have an A rateing . The places is super clean too. :)

Really enjoyed the seafood penang great spice and sause consistency. Lots of fish and muscles in it.

I recently tried another Asian food place in CC and it was terrible! I will gladly wait for J Chen to reopen before having Asian food again. Their portions are generous! The food is always cooked perfectly. Our order is always correct. We’ve order from J Chen many times and its DELICIOUS!

We love J Chen. Food is always consistent and even when we have lunch there we take home leftovers.

I really like their food. It's a family run place and the folks are nice. The place is clean. It's out of the way for me, but I will drive there to have a meal or get take out.

First time eating here the general Sao chicken and shrimp with lobster sauce we were both very happy with our. We did a puck up order and the lady repeated my order back to me over the phone and then went over my order once I got there love the customer service and quality control we will be back

Everything tastes like a mouthful of soy sauce worst Chinese food we've ever had & "warning MSG" I don't care if they say they don't use it. It was definitely in the soup and the dish we had. Everything looked nice but loaded with soy sauce like I've never had before.The sweet and sour tasted like grocery store freezer Chinese...In fact, you better off going across the street to the grocery store and shopping in the freezer section.

Best takeout, good food good price, good with kids.

Very good Hot and Sour soup

I like the casual atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is very good and reasonably priced. This time I had the yellow Thai curry and it was delicious!

I have eaten lunch here so often over the past several years that the mid-day staff knows my tastes by heart. I don't even need to wait to be seated - they just expect me to crash right in. The best hot and sour soup I have ever eaten, and a fine selection of lunch specials. Reccomended for anyone who likes old fashioned American - Chinese dishes. Very consistent. Did I mention that the hot and sour soup is the absolute best?

J Chen serves very good chinese food. The cost is reasponsble as well. Seating is open and the modern style is welcoming. It is a regular place for us.

Terrible food. I have not gotten good food here for years. I just got 2 dishes to go that I could not eat. Both items were watery. They should have been prepared with a thickened gravy but the food was floating around in a tasteless water. These were lunch combos that came with fried wontons and a nasty spring roll, both of which they plunked down right in the middle of this watery mess so I had to throw those out as well as they were soaking wet. How is this place even in business?

Convenient local Chinese restaurant

Every once in a while I crave a hot bowl of soup. This place, in my opinion, has very mediocre food but figured soup would be hard to get wrong. Last week I ordered tom yum gai (hot chicken soup) and I was happy with it.....until....I get to the bottom of the bowl. I had drained some of the broth.....wrapped around a piece of chicken was a short and curly hair. Any and all hair is gross. Horrific. Nasty. But this one I believed to be a true nightmare kind. Especially because I had nearly finished the meal. Skip this place.

Food is always good. The service was great. The place is clean and well taken care of including the ladies bathroom.

Delicious Chinese Food and Great Service! Enjoyed Kung Pao Chicken

We have eaten at J Chen for years and it's always been very consistent and delicious but I have to admit the past couple of times we've been there the food doesn't seem to be the same quality as it used to be. I have a feeling it has changed hands, that there's new ownership. The prices have gone up as well. I feel like all the entrees are maybe $2 more each. It's just not as good as it used to be. But it is convenient for takeout Chinese and it's definitely the best Chinese food in the area.

Good quality. Nice staff. Consistent over time which is nice. A little pricey but not much competition in the area so they can set pricing.

SOUR SERVER!Went out of my way to drive to J Chen because I heard their chicken wings were so awesome ..when I arrived there was only one table eating.. I stood at the front less about ten feet from my server who was sitting at the bar playing on her phone !She never looked up until after I said something to her... hello .. she sat me I said thank you with a smile and she walked away .. super annoyed and grouchy.. food was good but service was bad enough to never go back!!

Visited J Chen today. Pretty impressed by all the A ratings from the county inspector posted in the front window. I had a lunch special Sweet & Sour Pork which came with a couple of fried wonton, hot and sour soup and I upgraded to fried rice for another 50 cents. Pretty tasty, no issues and a reasonably priced lunch. Service was also fine, no problems at all. I kinda felt bad for them though, I was there on a Friday from 1130 AM to a bit past 1230 PM and there were very few customers. I give it four stars which to me is a good rating, I didn't cut a star for anything wrong, it's just that the food was good but not "wow," you know. I wouldn't have any objections to a return visit.

Not good not bad ...over all it ok

Reasonably priced. The service was a little slow. And the food is flavorless. I definitely wasnt impressed with the frozen vegetable rolls. The presentation is good though as you can see from the pictures.
